Invitation Working Together for Peace in Korea
The year 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement and the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. Over the past 100 years, the Republic of Korea has endured Japan’s colonial rule, the Korean War, and military dictatorship and has transformed itself into a free and prosperous democratic country. Looking ahead to the next 100 years, we must overcome national division and various regional conflicts, and establish permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula in order to move towards a brighter future.

Since 2010, the Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea has hosted the Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP), a Track 1.5 multilateral dialogue that brings together government officials, scholars, and experts from relevant states to share opinions on ways to promote peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula and to form an international consensus on the importance of Korean unification. Hosted by the Ministry of Unification and organized by the Sejong Institute, this year's forum will be held under the grand theme of "Working Together for Peace in Korea.” We cordially welcome prominent experts and government officials from both home and abroad to come up with policy prescriptions on ways to achieve denuclearization, peace, and prosperity both on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia.

We kindly ask for your keen interest and participation in the Korea Global Forum for Peace 2019. With your thoughts and opinions, we hope to usher in a new era of peace on the Korean Peninsula

Thank you.
KIM Yeon Chul
Minister of Unification
